Peter Eastgate Wins 2008 WSOP Main Event
November 12, 2008
After playing 104 hands heads up against Ivan Demidov, Peter Eastgate sealed the deal when his ace five made a bike against Demidov’s four deuce, which made two pair, after each player put all their chips in on the turn, the river fell a brick seven of spades, which made Eastgate the youngest poker player to ever win the World Series of Poker Main Event.
Not only does Peter Eastgate receive a shiny new gold bracelet he claims a first place prize of $9,152,416. Demidov can not be too upset as he to is walking out with an awesome prize of $5,809,595. Surprising enough, Kelly Kim was not the first player out of the tournament as he came into the final table with under three million in chips, which was a super extreme short stack. It was no surprise to see Dennis Phillips finish in third place, as he came in to the final table with the chip lead.
